Dito Tsintsadze is one of Georgia's leading directors and scriptwriters, who has lived in Germany since 1996. He studied in Tbilisi under Otar Iosseliani and Eldar Shengelaia. He has directed over 15 films in both Germany and Georgia, and the black comedy Lost Killers, set in the red light district of Mannheim, is Tsintsadze's first German film and stars Georgian actor and writer Lasha Bakradze, who will be here for a Q&A.
Lost Killers, premiered in the ‘Un Certain Regard’ section at the 2000 Cannes Film Festival. This deeply funny black comedy includes an unmissable performance by the director Dito Tsintsadze (pictured above) in drag.
Set in the red light district of Mannheim, Branko and Merab, two hapless hitmen, are assigned to kill a businessman for unknown reasons. Although the unsuspecting businessman offers them plenty of opportunities to kill him, the two men are prevented from carrying out their mission by the most absurd coincidences, even after taking on a new helper by the name of Carlos.
