Marika Khundadze in Zoe Hunter Gordon's Crocodile Tears

As part of the 9th London Georgian Film Festival there will be a 5-day intensive film workshop for Georgian filmmakers, students, and film lovers, who are Georgian nationals living in London or the UK, as well as anyone who feels connected to Georgia as their home.
Together we’ll explore home, displacement, and belonging, through the language of cinema. Over five days, selected participants will develop, shoot, and edit short films (1–5 minutes). The films will premiere on Sunday 5 October at Cine Lumiere. All forms are welcome—essay film, fiction, documentary, experimental.
The workshop will be conducted by Georgian filmmaker Nana Ekvtimishvili (In Bloom, 2013; My Happy Family, 2017), with a focus on concept development, screenwriting, directing, no/low budget production, together with London-based actress Marika Khundadze (A Room of My Own, 2022).
Guidance in post-production processes — including sound, cinematography, and editing — will be provided online by Georgian cinematographer, sound designer, and editor Niko Tarielashvili. There will also be guidance and support in the setting up of the production in the framework of the workshop. There will be a public workshop on Tuesday 30 September, 6.30pm at UCL featuring Nana Ekvtimishvili, and the short film Crocodiles Tears, developed by Zoe Hunter Gordon with Marika Khundadze playing herself, will be shown.
